What Is AC Replacement?
AC replacement is the right move when an air conditioner has reached the point where repairs no longer make financial sense or the unit can no longer keep up with your home's cooling needs. This service covers evaluating your current system, calculating the correct size for a new unit, and completing a full installation. Aberdeen, SD homes differ in layout and insulation, so sizing is based on your actual home rather than a generic estimate.
Why You Need It
Aging air conditioners lose efficiency gradually, which often means higher summer energy bills even while comfort declines. Older units are also more prone to sudden failure during the hottest stretches of the year, leaving a household without cooling exactly when it is needed most. Continuing to repair a system well past its expected lifespan frequently costs more over several seasons than a single, properly planned replacement.
How We Do It
System Evaluation
The technician reviews your current air conditioner's condition, age, and performance history to determine if replacement is the right call.
Load Calculation
A proper load calculation accounts for your home's square footage and layout, ensuring the new unit is sized correctly rather than guessed at.
Old Unit Removal
The existing air conditioner is safely disconnected and removed, with attention to refrigerant handling and electrical disconnection.
New System Installation
The new unit is installed and connected according to manufacturer specifications, with every connection tested before startup.
Performance Testing
The technician runs the new system through a complete cooling cycle and confirms proper operation before finishing the visit.
What To Expect
Most AC replacements are completed within a single day for standard residential systems. You will receive clear sizing and equipment guidance before committing to a purchase, along with straightforward pricing that reflects the full scope of the installation. Once complete, the technician tests the new system fully and reviews basic operation with you before the job is considered done.
